Exploitation Media is Here. We make stuff. You want to have that stuff. Right now we mostly just have 1 really short book and 1 public domain horror book. This is humble beginnings. I can FEEL you judging me, so don’t. Just stop. Soon there are going to be some games and some multimedia projects that we’re honestly really excited about. See…NOW you want to empty your pockets and give us that startup money. You know you want to. In the meantime, check out some of the Media we support. Go to our Patreon, if that exists yet (it doesn't), but honestly just give the money directly to us. Throw it at the screen and chant the name "Exploitation Media" until your throat is sore. Or you could get some sick Exploitation Media Merch.
Now for the cold hard truth about Exploitation Media. It was founded whatever year the back of our shirts say... 2001? When Matthew Jon Smith was in a robot-themed punk band called Robo-Dream-Date under the pseudonym, Dr. Rock. Around that era, Matt had been a huge Nirvana fan and had read Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana by Michael Azerrad, several times, where he learned that Kurt Cobain had ambitions of starting his own indie record label and that he would have called it Exploitation Records. Matt drew up the logo in MS Paint and couldn't wait to slap it on something as fast as he could. When Robo-Dream-Date released their first full-length, Matthew convinced his bandmates to use his label name and logo. Thus, Exploitation Records was born.
Here is our greatest achievement to date which was to have our album reviewed by Jim DeRogatis in the Chicago Sun Times. We only reached this level of absolute fame because Matthew Jon Smith's bandmate's dad worked for the paper and was able to hand Jim the press packet.
Now it is years later. The name, Exploitation Records, has been expanded to include all Media. The logo was made in Photoshop instead of MS Paint this time. That is it. The rest hasn't changed. We here at Exploitation Media have a commitment to art in all of its forms. We would do this for free.
